Enjō was a painter who published some examples of his artwork in a woodblock-printed picture book entitled Koga Yōran (i.e., Essentials of Ancient Painting). Published in 1812, this book included the twenty pictures of flowers and (or) birds shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Enjō’s drawing style was similar to that of the Kanō family who dominated Japanese painting at that time.
